Motorola Solutions appoints GM of Gov and Public Safety for ANZ
Motorola Solutions has appointed industry stalwart Paul Thompson to the role of General Manager for Government and Public Safety, Australia and New Zealand. Thompson was appointed after Michael N?Guyen moved to the role of General Manager of Sales and Distribution. Thompson will be responsible for leading the business to deliver mission-critical solutions to its range of Federal and State Government agencies and public safety customers across Australia and New Zealand. Thompson has more than 15 years? experience in the management and sales of network infrastructure, applications, customer premises equipment and professional services for carriers, enterprise and government. His most recent role was with Leighton Telecommunications? services subsidiary, Visionstream. Prior to this he spent a decade with network products and services business, Juniper Networks. Thompson has also served at Siemens Information Communications and was a general manager with engineering constructor, Lend Lease.
Brian Walker joins hybris global management team
hybris has appointed Brian Walker as Senior Vice President of Strategy. Hi appointment will be an asset for hybris in its business planning and development. In his role Walker will be involved in key areas such as marketing, customer development and the company?s product and growth strategies. He will also be a key evangelist for how hybris clients and partners can best position themselves to take advantage of the rapid changes in enterprise technology capability coming from hybris. Chris Upstone to head up new UXC Connect presence in WA
UXC Connect has officially opened its new office in Perth, a move that will help it deliver a broader range of services to customers in Western Australia. Tim Bentley promoted to new Symantec.cloud Regional Sales Director ANZ
Symantec has announced the appointment of Tim Bentley as the new regional sales director for the Symantec.cloud business in the Pacific region. Based in Sydney, Bentley will be responsible for expanding the company?s market presence and accelerating new business opportunities with customers looking to utilise cloud-based offerings.?Prior to this promotion, Bentley was the regional sales manager for the Symantec.cloud business where he helped customers move to the cloud by removing some of their IT budgetary and operational constraints. In this role, Bentley drove the delivery of the Symantec.cloud sales strategy in Australia and New Zealand, and was responsible for managing both the enterprise and SMB cloud sales teams. Bentley has more than 12 years of experience in the IT industry and has played a crucial role in making Symantec.cloud solutions accessible for businesses throughout Australia and New Zealand. Prior to his time at Symantec.cloud, Bentley worked for MessageLabs UK, where he headed up enterprise sales in the Australian market, and Cable & Wireless where he coordinated specialist sales teams.

Pitney Bowes appoints government sales manager
Pitney Bowes Software has appointed Dan Woodrow as federal government sales manager, based in Canberra. Woodrow?s most recent position was with geospatial services company Esri Australia, where he managed the ACT regional and national defence professional services practices. Previous, he was director of operations at Dotted Eyes, a geospatial managed services company where he was responsible for the software engineering team developing open-source platforms to support geospatial services delivery to local government and the health sector. With experience throughout the lifecycle of the information management and communication chain from data governance, analysis and validation to effective information communication, the company says Woodrow is able to consistently bring innovation in this field relevant to the needs and challenges of Government organisations.
Hewlett-Packard appoints Martin Fink CTO and director of HP Labs
Hewlett-Packard has named Martin Fink chief technology officer and head of its HP Labs research division. Fink replaces Prith Banerjee, who left the company to become CTO of the Swiss industrial giant ABB. Fink most recently was senior vice president and general manager of Business Critical Systems and previously led the Open Source and Linux Organization and the NonStop Enterprise Division. He joined HP (NYSE: HPQ) in 1985. Chandrakant Patel, the interim head for HP Labs, has been appointed senior fellow and chief engineer for HP Labs.
