ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)? The governor of Missouri is pressing officials to keep an NFL team in the state.
The St. Louis Regional Convention and Sports Complex authority has hired investment firm Goldman Sachs to help advise officials how to keep the Rams in the dome.
If that deal doesn?t happen, the group will try to find another team to play in the dome.
The agency?s chairman says the governor is taking a hands on role in the process.
Goldman Sachs has helped advise financing on every NFL stadium recently built.
Statement from Governor Jay Nixon:
?Protecting Missouri taxpayers must remain a top priority, and today?s action by the Regional Sports Authority to retain Goldman Sachs represents a positive development on that front.?The state has a long-term interest in the future of the Dome and in ensuring Missouri continues to be home to this proud NFL franchise. I look forward to my continued discussions with Greg Carey of Goldman Sachs about this matter.?
